Rodney G Testimonial – VAS Graduate

It gives me immense pleasure to write a testimonial regarding my experience with VAS. From the first contact I made with VAS to post graduation, my experience has been fantastic.

This was an intense six week program that tested me in every way. The amount of knowledge that is passed on to the student is incredible. VAS sets high standards for their students and then they give them the tools to succeed. Guy and the rest of the staff keep the students motivated and intellectually stimulated throughout this challenging program.

As an insightful educator, Guy recognized early on when I was struggling and he took steps to give me the extra help before and after class. His efforts and teaching techniques are reflected by the confidence I’ve gained in this industry and the immediate deployment I experienced.

A few people have asked me if the cost of the school was worth it. My answer has been simple. The INVESTMENT I made was at an absolute bargain! I’d highly recommend anyone interested in breaking into the tough field of insurance adjusting to invest in VAS first.

Letter From VAS Partner – Insurance Claims Adjusters

With over 96% job placement rate, Veteran Adjusting School has over 15 Insurance Partners that appreciate the high level of quality graduates the school produces. Here is a letter from one of these partners.

Guy,

Back in 2012, when you asked Insurance Claims Adjusters (ICA) to become a partner of Veteran Adjusting School (VAS), we were proud to join forces and help our military men and women find a rewarding career in insurance adjusting. We were familiar with you and your partner’s – Gary Pitts – work product as independent adjusters, and we were confident in your ability to provide well trained and qualified new adjusters to our growing roster. Four years later, I am happy to say that our trust in you has paid out dividends. To date, I believe we now have 14 of your VAS-Trained Insurance Adjusters on our roster and they are all performing above expectations. In fact, we now have 7 of your adjusters working for us as W2 employees.

As you know – insurance claims adjusting – especially catastrophe adjusting – has always been basically an unknown vocation within the insurance industry. Those of us that have been in the business for any length of time know we have always had to find friends or family to fill vacancies, and that the primary training method is done by going into the field with a seasoned adjuster and learning on-the-job. The major flaw with that model was the fact that the seasoned adjuster who was assigned the claim was a lot more interested in getting the claim done and pulling in revenue than he was in training the rookie. Whatever training might take place was the result of the rookie having a front-row seat and getting an overview of the process – it was not a formal training program.

Your knowledge and insight into the unique nuances of our industry has changed all of that. It is amazing to watch VAS take a person that knows nothing about adjusting – or even construction for that matter – and turn them into a well-trained adjuster in just six short weeks.

We both agree that you can’t teach – or learn – all there is to know about adjusting in six weeks. But I want you to know that we definitely feel confident in hiring your graduates. It is easy for us to support them knowing that they have the knowledge and the skills that the VAS mentorship program has provided them.

A true partnership is one where ALL parties receive a win, and this doesn’t actually occur that often in business. From our vantage point, VAS has indeed accomplished this goal. We are honored to support our military personnel as they enter our profession and look forward to our continued partnership with VAS.

Sincerely,

Dave Perkins

Perfect Job For Veterans

Perfect Job For Veterans

Veterans are trained and prepared by the best to be the best. They have also acquired unique skills that don’t always translate over to a civilian job. But CAT adjusting isn’t like most jobs. It requires a unique ethic and mindset that soldiers obtain during military service. For a hard worker, a CAT adjuster can make $100,000 in 6-9 months during the storm season.

What is CAT Adjusting?

When a catastrophic event (like a hurricane, hail storm, etc.) occurs, insurance agencies will deploy independent CAT adjusters to assess the damages of their customers’ homes to see how much compensation their customer is entitled to under their policy. These adjusters are usually independently contracted and are typically deployed to a storm to cover the affected region. Adjusters are paid per claim that they close and it is not uncommon for a CAT adjuster to make “6 figures in 6 months.”

The 4 characteristics required to be a successful CAT adjuster include:

  • Organization
  • Hard-Work
  • Self-Motivation
  • Dedication

MEET VAS GRADUATE JUSTIN

Justin went to school at (VAS) Veteran Adjusting School and was working within 12 days of graduation. That’s because VAS provides job placement for their graduates with their 15 (and growing) trusted insurance partners. Since Justin graduated from Veteran Adjusting School, he makes his own hours as an independent adjuster.

VAS is the most thorough insurance adjuster training program. In Justin’s own words, “They left no stone unturned.” Within 6 weeks the student has the skills of an adjuster who can work day claims, staff, or catastrophe adjusting.

CAT Adjusting

When a catastrophic event (hurricane, hail storm, etc.) hits, insurance agencies send out CAT adjusters to assess the damages and see how much money their homeowners are entitled to under their policy. VAS focuses on CAT adjusting because it is the maximum training and highest paying with the potential to make $70,000 – $100,000 in 6-9 months.

The Veteran Adjusting School’s course includes:
  • 30 Adjuster Subjects Taught
  • 40 Real World Claims
  • Xactimate Level 2 Training
  • Mentorship Through & Even After Graduation
  • In-the-field Adjuster Training
  • Laptop & Tools
  • And More

VAS Mentors

Veteran Adjusting School’s mentors give the student an invaluable resource of knowledge throughout the education. VAS mentors help the student through the course, through licensing, and even through their first claims in the field.

Storm Simulations

VAS provides real-world simulations that deliver a hands-on experience for the student. This allows for a more “on the job” practice which helps clear up any questions a student might have when estimating a claim on their own.

CATASTROPHE ADJUSTER TRAINING

CAT or catastrophe adjusters are a special breed. Although they can gross between $70,000 – $100,000 in 6 – 8 months, it is not something just anyone can handle. In order to be a successful CAT adjuster, you must be organized, hard-working, dedicated, and self-motivated.

CAT adjusters are independently contracted by IA Firms and Insurance Companies and make their own hours. This means that you must have a high level of dedication to close claims and accurately portray the professionalism of the agencies you represent.

What is Catastrophe Adjusting?

When a natural disaster occurs (hurricane, hail storm, wildfire, etc.),  insurance agencies send out catastrophe adjusters to estimate how much compensation the insured customer is entitled to under their policy. CAT adjusters are able to help these people put their lives back together after such a tragic event by providing them the money they so desperately need.

In a large scale natural disaster, like the recent wildfire in Canada, a catastrophe adjuster will go out on a deployment to assess the damages in the affected area. A CAT adjuster will be generally be paid per claim closed. This means that the earning potential can be very high.

Where Do I Find Catastrophe Adjuster Training?

Veteran Adjusting School is the best school for catastrophe adjuster training. VAS has a 100% graduation rate and
includes job placement post-graduation with their 15 insurance partners.

The 6-week course includes:

  • 30 adjuster subjects
  • 40 real-world claims
  • Xactimate level 2 training
  • Mentorship through and even after training
  • In-the-field adjuster training
  • Laptop and all the tools needed

Once you’ve completed the catastrophe adjuster training course, you will be fully trained to work catastrophe claims as well as day claims for any IA Firm or Insurance Company.

The entire VAS graduation class of Jun 2016 was asked to help out in the recent Canadian wildfire crisis for $500 a day.
